This message means that the L3 forwarding engine is getting Parity Error (PERR) and hence the interrupt is raised.

a.How frequently are you getting it?

b.if you do 'show earl statistics' from the SP-side, how frequenlty is it incrementing?

It is ok to see a few but if you are seeing it a lot, replace the Supervisor.

Hello.

There are toww error messages.

One is NT_PERR_INT.

Another is NS_PERR_INT.

I'm curious about difference between NT and NS.

6509_A>sh log

Jan 23 05:53:27: %L3_ASIC-SP-4-ERR_INTRPT: Interrupt NT_PERR_INT occurring in EARL Layer 3 ASIC.

6509_B>sh log

Jan 23 05:23:31: %L3_ASIC-SP-4-ERR_INTRPT: Interrupt NS_PERR_INT occurring in EARL Layer 3 ASIC.

I tried to see by using "show earl statistics" command in Cat6509.

But I couldn't success it.

Because ther command didn't work native ios in Cat6509.

Please, tell me the URL on CCO to search those error messages.

Regard,

John.

You need to issue this command from the SP.

Router#remote login switch

Trying Switch ...

Entering CONSOLE for Switch

Type "^C^C^C" to end this session

Router-sp#sh earl statistics

Thank you for response.

For inspection, How can i do?

What kind entry should be inspect by me?

Actually, there are so many entry...

Regard,

John.

You will need to look for "NS_ERR_CNT". You can also issue a remote command switch.

Router#remote command switch sh earl statistics | include NS_ERR_CNT

NS_ERR_CNT = 0 0

Router#remote command switch sh earl statistics | include NS_ERR_CNT

NS_ERR_CNT = 0 0

Router#

What's difference between NT_PERR_INT and NS_PERR_INT?

Could you please explain that mean?

Regard,

John.

Jan 23 05:23:31: %L3_ASIC-SP-4-ERR_INTRPT: Interrupt NS_PERR_INT occurring in EARL Layer 3 ASIC

Both are related to Netflow. NT is netflow table, NS is netflow statistics.

Thans for your response.

Pelase, tell me the URL ,which is reated to error message, on cisco.com?

I'm gonna search more detail...

Thank you agin

I did not find this documented on CCO. I'll alert our documentation folks on this.
