Error TFTP during IOS download: TFTP timeout

Hello Gents,

What could be the reasons for getting the this error (Error TFTP during IOS download: TFTP timeout) during download of IOS into a Cisco 3640 router.

The IOS tried were 12.1.5T9, 12.2.12a, 12.2.12b versions of ENTERPRISE PLUS IPSEC 56 feature set. It worked fine when we did the same through an xmodem setup.

Hi,

I guess that you set your stuff up the right way and that you can ping the router from the TFTP and also the other way.

There are some problems with IOS and the Cisco TFTP Client:

Try to use FTP tranfer instead;

The most commom causes for trouble with tftp download are:

Files are not in the folder that the tftp server uses. i.e. C:\tftpboot or so.

You have set the ip tftp source on the router to an unreachable adress.
