Expired licence on Cisco Documentation CD

Given that good hardware documentation should be part of any network management and troubleshooting bag of tricks, I guess this is the best forum for this question......

I cannot access any Cisco Documentation CD via the pop-up Cisco menu, when you load the CD, without getting the message:

"This software has expired. Click EXIT to exit this application"

I did not think Cisco had an expiry date on the Documentation CD!

I've reinstalled the Netscape and Verity software from the CD, still the same message.

I can access the CD if I browse it with Windows Explorer and manually select the "home" file from the CD.

Any ideas?

Could be due to a bad CD. You can access the Univercd on-line as well at:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/home/home.htm

I have the same problem on 3 different CD.

Any time I have had problems reading the Documentation CD in the past, I found that I could not even open the "home" file on the CD.

This time I can open it fine, but only by manually browsing the CD.

It is stupid , but you can only use the launcher from the CD Package . If you have a Documentation from September 02 you have to install the launcher from this CD Package , and then it works. ( I don't no why )
