Fast Ethernet module stops routing

I have a 3640 router with a fast ethernet module in slot 3. Since Monday the interface stops routing about every hour. I have to do a shut and no shut to get it up again. It is plugged into s 3550-12G in int g0/11. I tried it in a 3524 interface as well with the same result. The interfaces are all hard coded to 100/full. The router is running 12.2(2)XB5. I am not seeing any errors on the interfaces on either side. There is no evidence that anything is wrong yet it stops routing. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Hello,

can you check if CPU utilization is very high when the interface stops routing, or if the router is out of memory ?

Check the 'Traffic not passing through' section of the following document:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps359/products_tech_note09186a0080106fd7.shtml#trafficnotpass
