hi,
I have configured two 4510 switches with HSRP and connected to a server using teaming of NICs on server end. Both switches are connected with each other through trunk.
Now I m facing flapping problem between the interface on which the server is connected and the trunk port (b/w the switch).
What could be the reason?
1. That both interfaces of server which are connected to switches are teacmed up and so they are showing same mac-address to both the switches, and switches are learning one mac-adress from two ports (one is trunk and another the interface on which server is connected).
how can we solve the problem? By making one interface on server standby and another active or there could be another solution.
Thanks

If you are teaming on the NICs, connect both the NICs to the same switch and configure the switchports to be in an Etherchannel.
If you can set them up for failover, you can have them on different switches.

hi,
Servers are connected with two core switches for redundancy in network. We have to give only one ip-address to the server and for that both NIC of server has to be teamed up. After teaming them both NICs are sharing same MAC-address and showing it to both switches. As Switches are also connected so it is come kind of looping of same mac-address has been occured.
But when we connect any other switch in the network to these CORE switches, no flapping occurs. Flapping is only with servers, what should we do?
thanks
