Hi, I have a Cat5500 with 2 x SupIII and gigabit uplinks. I currently have a 2948G connected at the other end. I want to add another 2948G.
Do I daisy chain the new 2948 from the existing one via the GBIC's or do I use the second uplink ports on the 5500 to connect the second 2948?
Many thanks.

It seems to me that, if you can spare the uplink port on the 5500, you may want to use that. Then, taking advantage of STP, connect the 2948Gs to each other using the remaining gig interfaces. One of the interfaces will be in BLOCKING state (preventing a loop), but if any one of the connections in the triangle are lost, that interface will move to FORWARDING state and you will not have lost an entire switch worth of nodes from your network. Just a thought.
