GLBP Support

Hello,

I would like to know if GLBP is supported in routers 871, 1812 and 2800 and the IOS version . Feature Navigator says that is supported, but I have had problems with the features that are given with this tool (I don`t trust).

Hi,

I can say that up to 2 months ago with latest version of code GLBP did NOT work on the 871 routers. We had to send some of them back to our Distributor, I cannot say for sure on the 1812 and 2800. I would think they would work on those routers though.

The reason it did not work for us is that the 871 router only has a vrtual Ethernet interface and GLBP could be installed but would not see the virtual interface of the other 871 router. I think GLBP needs a physical interface on either router to work.

On the same not HSRP and VRRP did not work either.

Thank you for your answer. In your opinion, can we use VLANs (4 802.1q VLANs on Advanced IP Services IOS image) instead of a physical interface with the 4-port 10/100 Mbps Managed Switch?
