Hello,
I'm reposting this discussion here.
I have designed GLBP with vPC configured in a pair of N7K switches. But in Cisco documentation, the best practice configuration uses HSRP in vPC environment. Customer doesn't feel comfortable with GLBP since Cisco's best practice using HSRP. Is there any potential issue using GLBP in vPC environment?
Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason.
GLBP may be an industry standard but it is also a Cisco proprietary technology.

Hi, there is no need for GLBP with vPC. Both HSRP peers are active.

Hi Sean,
Thanks for the link. It is very helpful. I understand that both GLBP and HSRP can perform active/active load balancing in vPC domain. My question is if there is any potential issue when using GLBP (industry standard) with vPC (Cisco proprietary). I personally think there is no such compatiblity issue with GLBP and vPC, but just want someone can verify this.
Thanks,
Jason
