Help with VLN trunking and IPX

I have a core router trunking with a HP switch. The switch and router have 3 vlans and use IP and IPX. IP works fine and IPX allows login and viewing, but each time you try to open or copy a file the server claims it is unavailable. Has anyone ever seen this?
