I' using a 1721 router and a 2950 switch. I want my cable modem connected to my router's WAN port. How do I config the router to dynamically get an IP address from my ISP? Or do I get a static IP from them.
Thanks,
Chris

Hello Chris,
on the interface where the cable modem is connected to, configure the command:
ip address dhcp
or
ip address negotiated
Check this document for a sample config:
