how to connect servers

i have to design a network with this layout...

```````````serverfarmswitch - coreswitch - edgeswitch
`server/``````````|```````````````````|```````````````````|
`````````\ serverfarmswitch - coreswitch - edgeswitch

It's supposed to show dual links from the server to each serverfarm switch and links between all the switches.

I was going to use RSTP but i would have one of the links from the edge switch redundent and unused and the same on one of the links from the server. i thought i'd try and be clever and put RSTP costs high on the connections between the two edge switches and between the two core switches and between the two serverfarm switches so each edge switch would have a independent seperate route to the server however i don't know of any way to connect a server across two seperate switches so each switch can independantly access it. Is it possible or is there a better design where i can still utilise all the links and still have resilience?

RSTP provides rapid convergence of the spanning tree, however the alternate ports and backup ports are not included in the active topology and hence load balancing would not be difficult. I would recommend you to use HSRP instead.
