Hello,
I can't find a documentation showing how to upgrade the CatOs of a Catalyst 6500 by downloading the system file from another Catalyst 6500. I don't want to use a TFTP server. My requirement is that I only have at my disposal 2 devices: one Catalyst 6500 with an up-to-date CatOs and another Catalyst 6500 with an old CatOs.
anyone can help me through this?
Thanks
Pascal

Hi Pascal, if you have a PCMCIA card simply copy the up-to-date image onto it using copy sup-bootflash:filename.bin slot0:filename.bin, move it to the 6500 that requires upgrading and copy back to sup-bootflash and change any boot variables as needed. Note if ATA flash used substitute disk0: for slot0:
This will not update any MSFC(2) images you may have.

Hello,
thanks for your answer, but.... how can I do if I don't have a PCMCIA card?
is'nt it possible to proceed by tftp transfer, as for IOS? setup a 6500 as a tftp server and perform a "get" from the other 6500?
Regards
