this may disable all domain lookups if you are running 'ip dns server' and using the router for dns....an alternative is to use 'transport preferred none' under your line console or line vty submenu

shift + Ctrl + 6 can cancel the translation right away too

In CPT try CTRL + 6. This worked for me
