Hi,
Anyone else seen this problem with HP4100n printers? They sometimes send spanning tree BPDU's and unless you have bpduguard on they can change the networjk topology!!! I have never seen this before and cannot find a way of stopping the prnterd from sending them. Anyone got any ideas? Sometimes, they stop sending the bpdus and loopback the port so that a show CDP neighbors mirrors the swqitch itself and you get millions of traps saying hosts are flapping!!!
Anyone seen these issues before?
Thanks, Steve

Do you have a spare switch available to do further testing? Go to HP's website and download whatever manuals are available for the product and check to insure that only the proper protocols are enabled.
You may also want to test the cable and the printer nic to insure that both are operating properly - it could be that a bad cable is causing the switch port to go into the stp blocking->listening->learning->forwarding cycle repeatedly.
