HSRP and DHCP

When configuring HSRP and DHCP should the DHCP scopes overlap or should each HSRP agent be configured with a non-overlapping address scope?

DHCP makes a check before assigning an IP address to see if that address is in use. If one of the router is down, DHCP Server might assign that address to some other machine.

It is better to exclude router-used-IP addresses from DHCP scope.
