I am looking for ideas on what works best for hostnames and DNS naming format. How do you logically breakout or name your devices?

Hello,
Today i'm using these format:
SWA-PBLEXP-01
where: SW= SWITCH A= ACCESS, PBL= BUSINESS NAME, EXP= NAME OF DEPARTMENT, 01= QUANTITY OF DEVICES AT THIS PLACE.
SWC-PBLDTC-01
SW= SWITCH C= CORE, PBL= BUSINESS NAME, DTC= DATACENTER, 01= QUANTITY OF DEVICES AT THIS PLACE.

Do you do anything different for remote office locations? Or does that just fall under the 'business name'
for devices that have directly communication with remote sites, we have a difference,
for exemple: RTC-PBLSP-01 and RTC-PBLMNS-01
where rtc is router-core
