hello

i have a cat 6506 layer 3 switch with Gbps ports (optical fiber): no 10/100/1000 RJ45.

i connect this switch with a HP4000M (layer 2 switch) using one of the OF port.

i created many layer 2 VLAN in the HP4000M and use the tagging between the 2 switches. each VLAn is an IP subnet.

can the cat6506 route between these VLANs that r located physically in the HP4000M?

if yes, could you give a sample config of such scenario?

thx

If you have an MSFC in the chassis, then yes you can configure routing on the 6500 between the different VLANs.

Have a look to http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/473/#Layer-Three
