I have a Catalyst 3508 -8 port Gigabit fiber box that I use to facilitate backbone to several 3548 boxes at access layer for a small customer.
I have a need to effect a connection from one of the unused GBIC ports on my 3508 box to a GBIC port on an older Cabletron SSR2000 (temporary solution till customer upgrades to a Cisco box to replace the old Cabletron SSR). Will this work?.. I know both can run IEEE spanning-tree; I am curious as to if there would be any proprietary issues on either side that would prohibit this connection from working?...
