Hi there,

got a aproblem with a 2801 router that intially had IOS version - c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.123-8.T11.bin, I then tftp'd another one on to it c2801-entservicesk9-mz.124-2.T5.bin and added the necessary boot system commands; config-reg was at 0x2102. I then rebooted router but no longer have ip connectivity. When downloading the IOS image, however I did get a warning message %Warning: Executable file format not supported, gave me an option to Abort copy, but I hit the space bar and it continued to download. any ideas what may have caused this?

You may have had a problem with an ftp server that was used in ascii-transfer mode. Using other than binary mode will likely corrupt your image.

There are two indications for this: The checksum of the new image will be invalid and the length of the image-file is incorrect.

Regards,

Leo
