Hi,
I am doing ip forward-protocol for multiple ports over many vlans. Is there a way to monitor traffic through the use of SNMP. Is it sufficient to monitor the traffic on each vlan interface if I am using switched virtual interfaces (SVI)? I have attempted to monitor the traffic on each vlan but it seems to me that the traffic usage is slow. So I am wondering if I am doing the right thing.

I find your reference to ip forward-protocol somewhat confusing. Can you be more specific about what you are doing with ip forward-protocol?
Assuming that you have things configured correctly you can certainly use SNMP to monitor traffic. It will report all traffic and as far as I know there is not a way to differentiate the traffic generated by ip forward-protocol. So it becomes important to clarify your usage of ip forward-protocol.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for the quick response. Basically, I am doing ip forward-protocol udp xxx, xxx with a few ip helper-address - For PC gaming purposes in our company. However, all the games only starts duing lunch hour, so there is a rough baseline to how much traffic is generated by gaming traffic.
What I did was to use snmp to monitor the traffic usage for each Vlan interface. Because, all of my traffic monitored for each vlan interface is less than 2k bits per sec, I am suspecting whether I am monitoring the correct interface.
