IP QUESTION, any advice

hi,

i have router WAN interface :123.1.4.1 255.255.254.0

an another router WAN int :123.1.8.1 255.255.254.0

it's impossible to ping each other,

but can anyone give me ideal to ping each other

Hi,

Both WAN interfaces are connected to each other, right?

In that case the configured IP addresses including the netmask belong to different networks.

For example try this :

WAN interface: 123.1.4.1 255.255.254.0

WAN interface: 123.1.5.1 255.255.254.0

Or try to split the network in two /24.

If both interfaces are on the same router, both interfaces have to be integrated properly in their networks and other ip addresses belonging to the corresponding net have to be reachable.

hi, i assume these two intefaces connects to each other, is there any reason why their ip addresses are in different subnets? try changing ip address of one end to the same subnet as the other and you should be able to ping. e.g 123.1.4.1 - 123.1.4.2

or change subnet mask to 255.255.240.0 if your ip addressing plan allows, this will put both 123.1.4.1 and 123.1.8.1 into the same subnet
