Hi guys, im trying to make some tests with IPv6. What im trying to do is to make a tunnel between a cisco 7206 router and my laptop (one enterasys router and a switch between the two endpoints)
What configurations do I have to make? From what i've been reading, all I have to do is to create a tunnel on the router, with an IPv6 address (private address) and use an IPv4 address as the source and the IPv4 address of my laptop as the endpoint. On the laptop, I need dual stack and an IPv6 address, anything else?
Can you guys help me on this test? I'm looking forward to connect our site to the 6Bone but I want to test this first.
Thanks in advance!

From what you have above, it looks like your heading in the right direction. As far as your 7206 goes, you will need to enable ipv6 routing globally with the "ipv6 unicast-routing" command. You will also need a static ipv6 route pointing out your tunnel interface or some routing protocol announcing your ipv6 routes. I'm sorry, but I don't know anything as far as your laptop is concerned. I've only tunneled ipv6 through ipv4 between 2 ciscos. Good luck!

Thanks erhoehne, I have a couple of questions:
When creating the tunnel on the 7206, what difference does it make if I:
A) Configure an ipv4 address to the tunnel itself and then input this same address as the source of the tunnel or:
B) Not configuring an ipv4 address to the tunnel, but entering an interface as the source of the tunnel.
I think I have to point the tunnel to an interface when configuring a boarder router and you have the IPv6 ISP in one side and your IPv6 network on the other side, but in this test I just want to ping6 from the laptop to the tunnel endpoint through our IPv4 network, to test our internal tunnels before making the tunnel with the 6bone.
Thanks again

You're welcome! To answer your questions; you will want to give the tunnel interface an ipv6 address, but source the tunnel to another interface. I've never tried configuring an ipv6 tunnel with an IPv4 address and then saying that address is the source. I'm not for sure if that would work.
