Hello People,
I am facing a issue with my ISDN Connection, when I check the ISDN status below is the output
Global ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
ISDN BRI1/0 interface
dsl 16, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
Layer 1 Status:
DEACTIVATED
Layer 2 Status:
Layer 2 NOT Activated
Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
Active dsl 16 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003
ISDN BRI1/1 interface
dsl 17, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
Layer 1 Status:
DEACTIVATED
Layer 2 Status:
Layer 2 NOT Activated
Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
Active dsl 17 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003
ISDN BRI1/2 interface
dsl 18, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
Layer 1 Status:
DEACTIVATED
Layer 2 Status:
Layer 2 NOT Activated
Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
Active dsl 18 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003
ISDN BRI1/3 interface
dsl 19, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
Layer 1 Status:
DEACTIVATED
Layer 2 Status:
Layer 2 NOT Activated
Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
Active dsl 19 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003
Total Allocated ISDN CCBs = 0
Then once I clear the interfaces 2 of the 4 bri becomes active with Frame esatblishment, but that is also temporary, it will become deactivated after sometime, what is the cause for this problem, is ther any way to overcome it???, thanks in advance
Regards
Krishna

Hi Krishna,
Couple of question:
1. You have 4 ISDN lines ??
2. If not, then on which BRI port it is terminated.
Now, we are seeing that Layer 1 is deactivated. Can you confirm with your provider that it is UP or DOWN. Alternatively, can you ring from normal PSTN on the ISDN number (provided to you by provider) and check what you are hearing.

Smitesh

Hi Smitesh,
Yes I have 4 ISDN line connected, the moment I clear all the interfaces, 2 of the interfaces get terminated i.e BRI 1/1 and BRI 1/2, then it will be active for some time and goes back to deactivated state later.

Krishna

Do you have the correct ISDN switch type configured?
Basic-Net3 covers only a couple of countries in Europe and also New Zealand. I don't know where you are, but have you verified which type you need configured?
See the following URL for information on switch types.

Cheers.
