Hi All,
I went through the posts in this forum, but just want to make sure about
1) Am I right in saying that if I configure a DHCP
pool for each VLAN, the switch will know which pool
to use by looking at the incoming interface?
2) I cannot seem to get ISIS enabled with the
router isis command. When I enter this, it seems
like the command is ignored (IOS 12.0-7). I do not enter router config mode at all.
Thanks
Jacques

For the first question, yes the router knows which interface the request came in on and use the coresponding IP address pool for the interface. For the second question what is the exact IOS name of the file and what type of router or switch are you using.

1) Correct assuming that by switch you refer to a L2/L3 device.
2) Propably dur to the feature set you use or you have "no ip routing" configured on the L2/L3 device.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
Yes. It will be 3750G switches. I am asking this because it is an expensive piece of equipment and
do not want to buy it unless I am sure. We currently
use MS 2000 DHCP in a flat network but I cannot find
info on how to use that with VLANs, but if the switches can do it, I will use that.
The image on the router is c2500-is-l_120-7.bin. This is an old piece of equipment and is not related to the first question. I am now assuming that isis is only supported by specific feature sets?
Thanks for your replies
Jacques
