Between 2 layer 3 switches, is it better to configure a L3 etherchannel, or configure routed L3 links? If you set them up as routed links, you can load balance in excess of the 8 links limitations imposed by etherchannel. This isn't really an issue in my case. I'm just trying to figure out which solution is better. Any thoughts?

If you are just trying to get more bandwidth across I would use L3 etherchannel , this will load balance automatically per ip address or whatever parameter you choose to use . Generally I have never seen anyone use more than 4 aggregate links . If you need something above this you would generally go to gig links .

Hi,
If you use routed L3 links with a routing protocol, they are load balanced over these links also. If you use a L3 etherchannel, you just route over a bundled link.
Using L3 links is simpler - which I prefer.
