Hi, I Have an 3640 router with an fast erthernet interface.

On that interface i have 2 subnets on one physical segment connected.

My question is if i go from one subnet to the other subnet i am going over the fast ethernet interface, am i having the full performance of fast ethernet or am i going through the router and is my performance going down.

You’ll likely loose more throughput from your physical topology rather than the routing. The router should be able to keep up to spec but your wire will have a lot of collisions and transmission retries. I would break the two subnets into two physical and add another FE interface to the router to route between the two.
