Leased line problem -DCD down, CTS down

The problem is coming in a point to point LL between Cisco 3661 and 2610xm.

The serial int of the branch router (2610xm, s 0/0) shows the status down for DCD and CTS, all other parameter up.

The modem status shows loss in line but Telco checked the line and said its ok.

I replaced th e branch router with another of the same model and the interface came up completely, also the modem status showed no loss in line, BUT it does not ping the next hop, nor there is any data transfer across the link, could u guys help me out.

Dear Ram,

I would like suggest you to change your modem also. I am not sure whether this will solve your prob or not. But i have faced the same problem.In my case my modem was showing OK with no loss.Link was also OK but i couldnt ping next hop.This seems to be very strange but after changing that perticular modem with new one things started working fine.

When u changed the router, was the line protocol up.?
