So I just moved from a different state and switched from Charter to Cox internet. My old Motorola Surfboard modem died but no big deal I bought a Netgear CM500 and it connected to the internet no problem.
The problem started when I set up my Cisco Linksy E3000 router. It keeps giving me connected but no internet. I've gone through all the problem solving even to the extent of a full system reset. No dice, the poor service rep at Cox was on the phone with me for an hour with no luck.
Im getting the right lights, green for the globe and blue for the WiFi. The modem is good because when I hardwire it to the laptop I have internet.
It just seems to not being connecting with the modem because in the set up page it says the IP address is 0.0.0.0
Firmware is good to go, wondering if it's just too old?
Any help is appreciated.
