I have a very strange but reproducable problem across several similar MPLS ckts, ISR's and IOS versions.
The problem is affecting voice quality in general.
Setup
Cisco 2821 - 12.4.3a - same memory and hardware config on each ISR
PE ---- MPLS T1 ---- CE S0/0/0 --- S0/0/0.100 sub i/f ---- then either the LAN G0/0 or Loopback1
At 2 of my sites now - where I am using Loopbacks to bind media and control - latency from loopback i/f is slower than from the LAN i/f/
From the ISR when I ping the next hop provider PE when sourced from the g0/0 my ping times are 4 to 8 ms as expected.
When pinging the same PE next hop sourced from the Loopback interface ping times are at least 28ms, as high as 250ms and sometimes drops packets.
I am testing this on 3 diff ISR's in 3 diff cities - all with T1 MPLS with the same provider.
On 2 - i have the slow problem and cannot use loopback to bind voice.
On 1 - the ping times are identical no matter where I source the ping from.
Configs are parctically identical on all 3, hardware the same, service the same, and IOS version the same.
What could possibly cause something like this??
thx
