I would like to know how to test a loopback when the telco has given me the loop?

Pls advise

What type of interface is it? (E1, T1, E3 etc.) and what is your data-link protocol for this interface (PPP, default Cisco HDLC, Frame Relay etc.)?

For HLDC and PPP when you issue shýw interface command you can see read at the end of first line (looped). Fot more detailed information you can consult the document:
