I have to configure two vlans on a cisco 3550 switches with 2 IP addresses. & be able to configure special mac addresses to these two IP addresses : in another way i want these IP addresses to correspond to a mac addresses that i have configured on the 3550.

Anyone has an idea how to do this ?

Hello,

you could use the global command:

arp ip-address hardware-address type [alias]

The following is an example of a static ARP entry for a typical Ethernet host:

arp 192.31.7.19 0800.0900.1834 arpa alias

The (optional) ´alias´ indicates that the Cisco IOS software should respond to ARP requests as if it were the owner of the specified address.

HTH,

Georg
