Medianet installation.

I have just installed jabber 9.2.1 on Windows 8 but when I tried to install the Medianet service, I get an error saying that the install ended prematurely.

Does it work with Windows 8?

Hi Steve,

The Media Services Interface is not yet available/supported for Windows 8; we are currently working on it and expect to support this platform later this year (Aug/Sep timeframe). Hope this helps.. please let me know if you have additional questions.

It is already November with Jabber 9.2.4 and still no windows 8 support for medianet.

Unfortunatelly this is killing the deskphone video feature.

Do you have an update on this?

Apologies for the delay. In checking with the Jabber team, the Windows 8 supporting Jabber & MSI images will be available with Jabber 9.6 - this is expected to be available next week

Any update on this? Part of our proof of concept of vdi and windows 8 / 8.1 is to do a test on jabber video.

The Jabber team updated me that the 9.6 image with Windows 8.x support is now coming out later this month.

In the interim I can just provide you with MSI that is Windows 8 tested... Would this be useful for you?

I have exactly the same problem. We rolled out Win8 for the enterprise 2000+ users, and the Jabber Desktop video feature is gone.

The MSI would be a great help for us.

Both Jabber 9.6 and MSI 4  - supporting Windows 8 - are published in the EAP (Early Access Program).

They are expected to be available on CCO later this month as stated earlier

I found here the latest Jabber 9.6 build but no medianet.
