Meraki vs Cisco products

Hello All,

I wish to start with a very simple question ( i tried looking around to see if i could figure it out myself but couldnt ). I didnt get chance to speak to any Cisco expert so far, so i am hoping i fill find my answer here...

There is a big price difference between Meraki and Cisco Product line. I am trying to understand what differences and what compromises are we making unknowingly blinded by the low cost of Meraki. I do not mind saving but want to be well informed about the usual features or low level details which makes it worth spending extra $$ going for Cisco and not Meraki.

I have few big LAN refreshes in pipeline, and havent made up my mind yet on whats the best option to go with. Any pointers and insight will help.

thanks

Hi @Rajiv Mishra ,

In simple words:

With Meraki you have cloud management of the device, so you will depend on your internet connection and the network data privacy offered by the ISP in your country, in addition to the purchase of the licenses.

With Cisco you will have local adminsitracion, either through commands (CLI) or graphical (GUI), without depending on your ISP and having control of your network data.
