Mergefail: IP ACL merge error on Cat 3550

Hi,

I found a recommendation for the %FM-3-MERGEFAIL: IP ACL merge error 2 on Cisco's web site so I understand what needs to be done to fix the error. My ? is can someone explain why 108 lines of ACLs is too much for the 3550 to load into hardware? Thanks, Judy.

ACL merge is done in TCAM. As the size of this TCAM is usually small may be this limitation.

There are also a couple of bugs associated with this message. Do you have multiple secondary ip addresses? Could be bug CSCdw81841 if so. Try configuring "no ip redirects" on interfaces.
