Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the monitoring status means in the sh int fa x/x command output? I can't find in the documentation.
FastEthernet0/23 is up, line protocol is down (monitoring)
Hardware is Fast Ethernet, address is 000c.30e9.cd57 (bia 000c.30e9.cd57)

Did you look in your config and see if this port is being used as span (monitor) port ? Maybe it's turned on .

Do a "show monitor" and see what monitoring you have enabled.
If you don't want any monitoring go into global config mode and do a "no monitor session all"
