The current system has 5 wbe servers running a combination of NT4 and Win2000. 3NT systems are on WLBS. The other two are separate servers. The DB is MS SQL 7 on NT. There are two of these servers. The whole system sits behind a firewall.
We will be moving this system out of its current location into another facility where we hav easier access.
New system will have a pair of firewalls, Cisco 11501 with 4 web servers attached. The will be using a cluster of DB servers that hold the data. There will be an additional web server that will host a training system (lightly used) and a testing server for cusstomer testing of minor changes.
I am in the process of updating all web servers to 2000 prior to the move. The DB servers will remain NT with SQL 7 until after we get the servers moved.
The new system will be built from all new hardware. Most of the current system will be turned in or used as development servers for the programmers.
There will also be a 2nd duplicate of the new production environment built as a test system that once all software is upgraded and tested will become the production system. Looking at this upgrade to happen about 7 months. That won't be a problem since these systems will be side by side behind the same firewall.
I hope this gives you a better picture of what is in place and what will be.
