You should not need to configure the interfaces. Just enable SNMP on your routers and set the community name so that your cfgmaker perl script will execute properly.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I made this procedure and it´s ok.
My new problem is: I want to monitor some ATM sub-interfaces in a 7505 router.
Do you know how to do ??
Best regards,

I know that subinterfaces in general can be targeted, although I've never done it. I have seen conflicting reports as to whether or not Cisco supports a MIB for ATM subinterfaces. Hopefully someone with more experience will jump in because I have searched the web exhaustively and found nothing worth posting.

This may be of interest:
Cisco IOS implemented support for subinterfaces in the ifTable starting in release 11.1. Frame relay and ATM LAN emulation (LANE) subinterface support was added in IOS release 11.1. Support of other ATM subinterfaces was added in 12.0(1)T for Cisco 12000, 4x00/M, 72xx, and 75xx platforms.

I'm still not sure if just running a standard cfgmaker will pick these subinterfaces up automatically or not. You may still have to manipulate your cfg file to target the subinterface even if you have the appropriate IOS.
