Multicast Rendezvous Point Positioning?

Where and on what merits should I position Rendezvous Points in a network consisting of:

a)Edge Layer 2 devices dual connected to two Layer 3 Core switches

b)Both Core Layer 3 switches connected with full meshed links to two pairs of Layer 3 Server Layer switches.

c)Multicast application servers will connect to Server Layer switches

The positioning of the RP is not of top priority. In PIM-SM the RP is only needed to start new sessions with senders and recievers so there is little traffic overhead put on it.

From what you have said in your e-mail, it would appear that it would be best in the centre of your network, and not out on an edge switch.
