hi all,

I try to configure VLAN 4 with an all access to the server but it does not work or I ping all or none.
Order to isolate my vlan between her but she did anyway access to the server if you could explain to me why this does not work

vlan1  switch 2950

vlan2 switch 2950

vlan3 switch 2950

vlan4  switch 2960 connecting trunk all vlan  connecting server

Hi ,

 To have inter-vlan communication you need to have L3 network gear in your network (L3 Switch/Router)

Hi ,

 For all 3 VLAN , Gateway IP address must be configured on L3 Switches . I dont see any ip address configured on VLAN router . Kindly configure it .

vlan router#show ip interface brief
Interface              IP-Address      OK? Method Status                Protocol

FastEthernet0/1        unassigned      YES unset  up                    up

I try to put the same thing without success
owerlaps with Vlanxx.

thanks for you help

Hi ,

 You Cant use Same network across multiple Vlan .You need to use different subnet

VLAN10

10.20.10.1 switch1 IP

 10.20.10.10 Server IP

VLAN20

10.20.20.1 switch1 IP

 10.20.20.10 Server IP

VLAN30

10.20.30.1 switch1 IP

 10.20.30.10 Server IP

If you want to isolated host within same network you need to use private vlan .

Hi,

thank you very much for all these explanations
in my case I have a server pool must tell all my vlan and I wanted to create SEVERAL vlan one per floor of the building 1,3,5:
VLAN10 = 1st floor
vlan20 + server pool floor = 5
vlan30 = 3rd floor
the vlan 20 would be the primary vlan 10 and 30 isolate?
my approach is the right one?
thank you for your temperature and your response
