Hi,
Could a packet traverse more than one static NAT translation? I mean, can one packet first be natted statically on a router and than forwarded to another router that nat statically it again?
I hope I've been clear enough.
please could anyone help me?
thanks a lot in advance
bye

Hi,
I don't see why you can't, you just have to pay attention that when traversing from inside to outside, packets are routed before translated, while when packets go from outside to inside, they are translated and then routed.
Hope I helped

I have to redirect packet arrived from outside to a public ip, toward a new one public ip. I have one router and then a PIX firewall, router first nat statically the old one address and then PIX nat the new one. Do you think I'd not have problems doing that?
Thanks a lot for your useful help.
bye
