Need echo turned off on async lines.

All,

Okay, I admit I’m stumped on this one. I need the echo turned off on one of the 2512 async lines. I need this because it plugs into the console port of a 3640. When I’m not using a telnet connection to the 3640 the async lines echo everything back to the 3640. The 3640 then tries to process the echo as a command and things go down hill from there. Any way to keep the async lines on the 2512 from echoing what it receives?

Thanks in advance.

You have to use the command "no exec" in the line mode.

Excellent, that fixed the problem. Even rebooting the router and with all its output didn’t even lock up the line. Thanks again!
