Need to set CLOCK

I have a small network consisting of several CAT 3550 and CAT2950 with no internet connectivity. The network works well.

I am manually setting the clock on CAT3550 and I configure CAT2950 with "ntp server 192.x.x.x". the CAT2950 doesnot learn the clock from CAT3550.

Please let me know what needs to be configured on CAT3550 to act so that other switches learn the clock time from it.

What might be an easier solution is if you have a server on your network running a time protocol. Tardis is a shareware product which will act as the time server and is obtainable from http://www.kaska.demon.co.uk/tardis.htm

You can then set up your switches to point to the time server for their update. It is also easier to manage the time on the server either manually or via the net as this software can automatically get the time from the internet.

I do not want to rely on an external server (NT or otherwise) for my clock. Is there a way to configure CAT3550 to act as a clock source for other Cat3550 and 2950.

I use the software you say in windows 2000 server, so my router is aking for NTP synch to the server, but synch never succed. In the server I run k9nt in debug mode, I can see a message saying: NTP message received from 172..... mode 3. I think my router is reaching the server but the server does not reply the correct response. Do you know wich type of NTP k9nt is providing (SNTP or NTP)?

Sorry you have reason, I was using K9NT the correct software is Tardis2000, i have my NTP server running now.
