I have configured one of my routers with rmon to send a trap when interface loading reaches approx 80% and to rearm again as it falls. I am receiving all the RMON Falling traps but none of the RMON Rising traps, has anyone come across this before or have any ideas as to why it works for ReArm but not Rising? The output of sh rmon events states thatthe trap was sent:
Event 2 is active, owned by config
Description is High Interface Utilisation
Event firing causes log and trap to community Orb1t, last fired 00:46:43
Current log entries:
index time description
1 00:21:07 High Interface Utilisation
2 00:27:39 High Interface Utilisation
3 00:28:24 High Interface Utilisation
4 00:32:24 High Interface Utilisation
5 00:46:43 High Interface Utilisation
Event 3 is active, owned by config
Description is High Interface Utilisation Threshold ReArm
Event firing causes log and trap to community 0rb1t, last fired 00:47:43
Current log entries:
index time description
1 00:00:07 High Interface Utilisation Threshold ReArm
2 00:11:07 High Interface Utilisation Threshold ReArm
3 00:22:07 High Interface Utilisation Threshold ReArm
4 00:29:24 High Interface Utilisation Threshold ReArm
5 00:35:54 High Interface Utilisation Threshold ReArm
6 00:36:26 High Interface Utilisation Threshold ReArm
7 00:37:12 High Interface Utilisation Threshold ReArm
8 00:47:43 High Interface Utilisation Threshold ReArm
Router config is as follows:
rmon event 2 log trap Orb1t description "High Interface Utilisation" owner config
rmon event 3 log trap 0rb1t description "High Interface Utilisation Threshold ReArm" owner config
rmon alarm 1 lifEntry.24.2 30 absolute rising-threshold 200 2 falling-threshold 153 3 owner noc
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
