Hi all,
My client was using netware 6.0 OS with a flat addressing scheme 172.20.x.y using layer 2 switches and hubs. We had now implemented a L3 core switch cisco 4506 with vlans. After creation of vlans, the users from different vlans can ping all the netware servers in the server vlan but cannot access the servers using the novell client application,ie the tree structure does not display.
I did enable IPX routing in the global mode but by default the netware clients 6.0 do not use ipx.
Any suggestions , how can i get the NDS tree ????
Thanks

just a guess, but you may have to enable multicast routing, novell slp's use mcast address 224.0.1.22 and 224.0.1.35, (actually used for designated router, i think thats the term)

really wasn't thinking, enabling multicast will work, but so will setting the designated agent address, you need to load the da nlm on a server, then point your clients at the da, this can be done thru dchp, then the novell clients will use unicast instead of multicast to find the nds info from the da. or enable multicast and the client will find the da via multicast
