I am trying to copy the running config to the startup config but I keep getting an error that points to NVRAM.
This is what it looks like
when I issue the copy command.
CISC04-0F#copy run start
Building configuration...
nv_done: unable to open "flash.new"[OK]
NVRAM Verification Failed
I've tried to "config mem" like this:
CISC04-0F#config mem
Notice: NVRAM invalid, possibly due to write erase.
CISC04-0F#
But you can see I get an error. The NVRAM has been erased and I cannot figure out how to reinitialize it.
Thanks in advance.
The switch is a WS-C2924C-XL
Software is:
c2900XL-hs-mz-112.8.10-SA6.bin

It appears the NVRAM has gone bad and the switch needs to be replaced. Open a TAC case if you have a contract.

Hello,
I had a similar problem once, and the trick was to erase the nvram and then copy the running to the startup config. If that doesn't make a difference, the NVRAM probably indeed is damaged, and the box needs to be replaced. You might want to give that a try though...

Thanks. I did try to erase NVRAM but as you can see that fails.
CISC04-0F#write erase
nv_done: unable to open "flash.new"[OK]
CISC04-0F#
I'll look into getting a new switch.
