Hello,

Should i set up a pix501 for two lans ?

I mean I have today a pix (192.168.42.40) on a lan (192.168.42.x), ok, working fine.

I wanna add a new lan 192.168.0.x, can I use same pix with a kind of alias or so, i would like to access this pix with 192.168.0.10 address, is it possible ?

Thanks for help

You could set up two vlans on the inside interface of the PIX and assign 42.x and 0.x address to the respective vlans. The PIX is not a router, so I doubt if it will route between the two ( I could be wrong)...But still you should be able to manage the PIX via that 192.168.0.x ip address...

That was a nice idea, unfortunally, PIX501 doesn't provide any vlan :(

Guess there's no solution.

Thanks anyway
