Whehen I do a show interface ser4/1/3 am getting the following:

147045 packets input, 28544268 bytes, 0 no buffer

Received 0 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles 0 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored, 0 abort

212853 packets output, 65443543 bytes, 0 underruns

0 output errors, 0 collisions, 0 interface resets 0 output buffer failures,

****9341 output buffers swapped out*****

0 carrier transitions

RTS up, CTS up, DTR up, DCD up, DSR up

Everything else looks fine. What is the significance of this? what can I do to eliminate this problem. Is it a problem? I am monitoring the situation, but so far communication seems unaffected by it. My other serial links using this serial module are fine. thanks for any assistance

Output buffers swapped out number gives you how many packets are swapped into DRAM(System or Main memory) from SRAM(Interface TX memory) when interface TX queue is full. In other way, how many packets are queued in backup buffer(Main memory) instead of dropping them. It's not a problem unless if you see output drops increment also.
