The company I work for is looking at becoming an ISP and starting with selling dialup services. What I need to know is what the recomended oversubcription of subscribers vs dialup trunks. I have heard anywhere from 4 Subscribers per trunk up to 10 Per trunk. What do you think?

hello,
most ISps have a 1:6 or 1:7 ratio for Dial ups. I think that will be sutable for u. As the number of dialup users may vary from place to place, you can change the ratio according to the expected traffic.

From having prior experience with starting an ISP, I would recommend a 1:6 ratio to start. As your company grows, your demand for more trunks will to. I would recommened reviewing your network traffic periodically to ensure your clients are not catching the *BUSY* signal.
