Is there a way to configure either a switch or a router at a small remote site to find rogue DHCP servers such as a user plugging in a home wireless router that issues IP addresses to clients?
I know we could configure DHCP Snooping to only allow ...
We purchased a couple Nexus 5596T Switches that came with older firmware on them:
n5000-uk9.5.2.1.N1.4.bin
and
n5000-uk9-kickstart.5.2.1.N1.4.bin
I would like to update the firmware before putting them into production. I notice there is version 5, ...
Is there a way that you can configure a 4500X VSS stack to automatically failback to the primary switch after a secondary switch failure or upgrade. I upgraded the IOS on a 4500X VSS stack and reloaded the secondary switch first and then the primary...
I am in need of a 10 Gbit Switch with around 24 SFP+ Ports and a minimum of 4 10GigBaseT Ports. This is for connectivity to several EMC Devices and UCS Servers with SFP+ direct attach and some with 10GbitBaseT Copper Ports on our iSCSI SAN. Unfortu...

Our configuration is as follows:
3x WS-C3850-48T Switches (Non POE with 48x Copper Gig and 4x 10 Gbit Uplinks (No POE Ports)
2x 350 Watt Power Supplies in each Switc...

Thanks for the info. I think I'll leave things as they are per your recommendation.
That being said, any idea on how I can make sure the OOB management port works if the second switch becomes active? My configuration only shows one OOB management ...
The 2 problems are.
1. I don't see anything in the 3850 or 4500x line that actually has 10GigBaseT uplink modules. The uplink modules all appear to be SFP+ modules.
2. I would use 10GigBaseT SFP+ modules, but I am a bit concerned that the only one...
So if I read that correctly, it sets redundancy on power supplies on a per switch basis and not on the entire power stack? If that's the case I'll just run in redundancy mode as I don't see how with data only I would exceed one power supply draw.
The latest 3.09 software seems to be working and picking up the 100FX SFP without issues. I'll continue to monitor for stability and keep an eye out for any newer 3.09 releases for bug fixes as they come out.
