I have a 2620 connecting back to 7206. I would like configure the WAN interface of the 2620 to reserve bandwidth for a voice application. I'm a bit confused as to what command should be used ....

Policy QoS

class ProLogix

bandwidth 65 ??? or

Priority 65 ???

I would like to reserve 65kbps of bandwidth in the WAN.

Any help on this would be great. ps. version 12.2(5).

Hi.

If you want a queue for voice you should use the "priority" command, because it will be a strict priority queue. The differences between "bandwidth" and "priority" are two:

1- priority will classify the queue as a strict priority queue

2- by using priority, in case of interface congestion it will police the traffic on that queue.

Hope this helps.

Rgds.
